Discover your passion for nature in a relaxed atmosphere amidst beautiful scenery
by hiking on well organized tours.
I arrived in this region in May 2000 and immediately fell in love with it.
The story of Finca La Herradura began at the end or 2001.
Until the end of 2024, we were dedicated to offering well-known one-week riding trails through Extremadura and Portugal.
We collaborated with several travel agencies across Europe specializing in equestrian tourism.
After 25 years in this field, various reasons - such as our horses aging, the impact of COVID, and other life events -
led me to the decision to transition from horse trails to hiking trips. These will be just as well-organized as our riding tours.
This region remains a hidden gem, known mainly among birdwatching enthusiasts and lovers of soft tourism and nature.
Far from industry, it is the perfect place to enjoin a peaceful holiday in unspoiled nature and experience the true countryside.
You may wonder what will happen to the horses. They will remain on the finca to enjoy their well-deserved
retirement - 16 in total, with 8 of them already 26 years old.
